History
In the Middle Ages, there was a Great Temple, which was combined with Tendai sect and Shingon sect called "Kouunzan Bussyouji-temple" about 500 meters northeast of present location ,so that it was proposed to this place by that It is inferred.
A fire broke out that the Bussyouji-temple was burned down in the first year of Houtoku (1449), and since it is written " Sannou-sya owner Kanemoto Tosa the first year of Houtoku" in the building note of Honmachi-ebisu-sya rebuilt the same year,Sannou-sya knows that it was already settled in the middle of the 15th century.
Later, when the Yukimori Yamanaka held Katsuhisa Amako in 1569 and battled with the Mouri Army when he tried to rematch, the town in Imaichi was faced with war, and the Sannou-sya was also destroyed,however, no record is left.
With the development of the town of Imaichi, as the number of households also increased, the precincts were soiled and the shrine was also danger of fire, so it was confirmed by Mr. Ito Zengoro (transportation industry) in the Annei 3 year(1774) donated, townspeople consulted and built a shrine in the area and was promoted. This is the current shrine location.
In the Meiji 4 year renamed the Hiyoshi Shrine, it was put in a village shrine. The shrine was burned in 1909 the newly built in 1913 is now the shrine, the faith of the townspeople is thick , even now it is "San-nou-san" It is called and familiar.
The total main shrine of Hiyoshi Shrine is located at the east foot of Hieizan and It oversees 3,800 companies scattered throughout the country.
Originally,Ooyamakui-no-kami was enshrined, but when Emperor Tenchi moved to Otsu Kyo from Yamato, he to invite Ohnamuchi-no-mikoto who was the landlord god of Yamato, and was worshiped in the Nishi-honguu shrine (Ohmiya) as the Daihiei-sannou, Ooyamakui-no-kami is seced in the Higashi-honguu (Ninomiya) as Shouhiei-sannou.

Ohnamuchi no kami
「Ohnamuchi no kami」 is regarded as the young name of 「Ohkuninushi no mikoto」,and it is also known as 「Ohanamochi」 , 「Ohonamuchi」,「Oonamochi」,「Kunitsukuriohonamuchi」,「Yachihiko」,「Ashiharashikowo」
「Ohnamuchi no mikoto」has many aliases
"Oh" of Ohnamuchi is "Large". "na" is "land." . "muchi" is said to be "noble person".
Ooyamakuino no kami
The name "kui" is about a pile and it is said to mean the god who strikes a stake at large mountain, that is, the god who rules over a large mountain.

Kikkoumon is commonly used in shrines in the Izumo region.
Honored as a symbol of longevity from ancient times,it is said that the pattern of the turtle shell that was respected as a spiritual animal to defend the northernmost as "Genbu" was converted into a ceremonial pattern.
It is also said that the Izumo Taisha's crest is a tortoise shell which shaped a turtle shell pattern floating on the tail of a sea snake.
Waka of offered to God

Each of the 55 works chosen from among them is affixed to a large frame of about 5 meters wide across the width, dedicated to hall of worshipers.
